See the same harmony in a different key

Halfway through rehearsal, the singer asks for another key and the leader says, “keep the one–four–five–six-minor progression.” You know it is the same harmony, yet you would have to translate all the chord names in your head again.

Numbered chords show the degrees relative to the key, such as 1, 4, 5 and 6m. The shape of the song stays familiar even when the displayed chord names change.

Three steps are enough:

• Open a chord song that has a key set.
• Open the Menu in the global header.
• Turn on Numbered chords in the song quick actions.

The short legend above the song shows which chord each number means in that key. This changes only the display, not the song source or its selected key.
